THSBA Announces Dissolution

CARY, NC June 30, 2020 -The Board of Directors of the Triangle High School Ballroom Association voted unanimously to dissolve. Reasons for the decision include inability to operate for the foreseeable future and difficulties for director and participant involvement given the COVID-19 pandemic.

The entire board expressed sadness for the closure and encouragement to students. “We are deeply saddened by the need to shut down,” executive director Benjamin Daniel said. “A lot of work has gone into getting where we were, and we were ecstatic to provide such wonderful opportunities to students and watch the organization grow. Unfortunately there’s only so much you can do when something like this pandemic happens. We encourage all students interested in ballroom dance to pursue private lessons where possible and to participate in university ballroom dance clubs in the future.”

Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, THSBA was poised to provide more than $15,000 worth of free lessons to over 40 local high school students in its inaugural season. THSBA plans to make efforts to keep resources on publicly available.

Cary, NC, March 14, 2019 — Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, the Triangle High School Ballroom Association will be suspending all activities, including THSBA Team practices, effective immediately. THSBA hopes the impact of the virus will decline significantly in the next few weeks and activities will resume shortly.

While THSBA is very excited to have its inaugural season underway, the health and safety of students and instructors must be of primary importance. All students are encouraged to follow the guidance of local health officials in staying healthy.

THSBA will be in contact with all students on the Capital and Prestonwood Ballroom Companies regarding when classes will resume. Announcements will also continue to be posted on THSBA’s social media sites.
